In today’s edition of the ‘Whatever Matters’ newsletter, I am thrilled to share some easy hacks for building a successful life. Well, first I will help you with an important factor before giving you the hacks. If you don’t like to read, do listen to my podcast for free,
The Zeroth rule,
Before we dive into making you successful let’s first understand what it means to be successful. No! It’s not always about how much money you have. That could be a metric for some but not for all. So, the first rule is to DEFINE WHAT SUCCESS MEANS TO YOU.
Once you have the definition - remember it, stick by it and with each passing day you’ll get closer to your version of success instead of running after what society thinks.
1. Power Up with Positivity!
Passion is the DNA of your energy. Be passionate about what you do. Passion and energy are also highly contagious. Feeling happy and energetic gives you the fuel to achieve anything. Do things you enjoy and focus on positive thoughts. Negative stuff drains your energy.
When I say power up, I also mean lose out on the energy drainers in your life. Let go of people, places and items that drain your energy. It’s hard therefore, it’s rewarding.
2. Brain Training, Never Stop Learning!
Building on your strengths is easier than overcoming your weaknesses.
The world keeps changing, so keep your brain sharp! Read a book, take a class, learn a new skill anything to keep that knowledge up to the mark!
Admit what you don’t know, that’s the first step to learning what you may need to know.
3. Recharge Your Batteries!
There are 168 hours in every week. You probably spend 40 at college,
128 to sleep, eat, rest, and spend however you want. You can't always be awesome if you're running on fumes! Make sure you get enough sleep, take breaks, and spend time doing things that relax you. This will keep you focused and ready to tackle anything!
4. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone!
Don't be afraid to try new things! This is how you discover hidden talents and have amazing adventures you’ll find it easier to push your boundaries. Don’t overdo it. But do it. Perfect rarely exists, so stop waiting for perfect. It might feel scary at first, but that's okay! It just means you're growing.
5. Believe in Yourself!
Having a positive attitude is like a magic shield that blocks negativity. ️ If you believe you can do something, you're WAY more likely to actually DO IT! So tell yourself "Yes, I can!" and watch amazing things happen.
#7 things you should remember when in college
1. Your scores/grades don't define you, your personality or your values.
2. Work at a restaurant or a supermarket, you'll learn what college can never teach.
3. Make friends with students smarter than you, they will push you to do your best.
4. If you gave 3/4 years to live someone else's dream, give at least 2 years for your dreams.
5. Professors will scare you about your future, trust me - they're lying.
6. You're not going to be unemployed, you don't get a job in placements.
If you are still in college, step out --> do wonderful things.

Pivot by Jenny Blake
In "Pivot: The Only Move That Matters Is Your Next One," Blake mentions that the traditional career path of climbing a corporate ladder is no longer the only way to achieve success.
The key takeaways from this book I feel will help you:
The book emphasises the importance of adaptability and willingness to change your career direction. Jenny calls this a "pivot" – leveraging your existing skills and interests to move in a new, related direction.
Instead of dwelling on your weaknesses, Jenny suggests focusing on and building upon your strengths. Identify your passions and natural talents, then look for ways to use them in a new career path.
Develop a belief that you can learn and grow throughout your career. Never stop acquiring new skills and knowledge.
See challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try new things.
Maintaining a positive attitude is crucial for success. Believing in yourself and your abilities will increase your chances of achieving your goals.
Jenny provides practical tools and exercises to help readers identify their strengths, explore new possibilities, and make successful career pivots.
